We are a Contemporary Italian restaurant located in the king West area od Downtown Toronto. We are looking for Chef who is trained in Italian cuisine to join our team.

The Executive Chef is responsible for the day-to-day administration operations of the kitchen. Functions include, food purchasing, cost control and daily expediting of dinner services. The Chef will be in charge of scheduling and the labour cost that goes along with that. The Chef assists in the management and training of new personnel, and doing performance reviews.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage all activities in the kitchen, including food preparation and production, and management and training of kitchen staff.
  • Ensure efficient, costeffective operation and profitability of food production.
  • Ensure that food products, presentation, and plating are of the highest quality, and are prepared to serve in a timely manner.
  • Assume the role as Executive Chef in his absence.
  • Assure adherence to all standards of food quality, preparation, recipes, and presentation in conjunction with the specifications.
  • Assure kitchen personnel is trained in best cleanliness and sanitation practices
Qualifications for Kitchen Manager,

  • Minimum 35 years cooking experience in a fine dining environment and experience in a culinary leadership role.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and dining room employees, and guests.
  • Safe Food Handling Certification.
  • Must be well verse in office functions as well and calculate food costs & labour costs.

Salary:
$70,000.00-$85,000.00 per year

Experience:


  • Cooking: 5 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Food Handler Certification (preferred)
