What can I expect to do in this role?: As a Fire College Instructor, working as part of an integral team, you will:

  • Participate in the design, development and delivery of course curriculum.
  • Coordinate the delivery of various courses.
  • Conduct student evaluations.
  • Advise and support adjunct instructors.
  • This role involves overnight stays and travel across Ontario (as required).

How do I qualify?:


Adult Education Knowledge and Experience:


  • You have knowledge of, and experience with, adult education principles, techniques, and practices to prepare and present training programs in varied forms across diverse media, including eLearning technology
  • You know models of teaching and have experience with curriculum development in order to design and deliver course content

Essential Skills:


  • You have research, evaluation and time management skills to develop, administer, score, and evaluate written, oral, and practical evaluations
  • You have strong oral and written communication skills to deliver course material and presentations
  • You have proven experience facilitating adult eLearning synchronously and asynchronously

Fire Service Knowledge:


  • You have a wellrounded knowledge of fire service professional education and training programs and operations
  • You have a keen understanding of fire department operations and fire services personnel roles and responsibilities
