JFSC Outreach Team works to address the unique needs of every senior with the goal of successful aging in place.

Older Adult Outreach Worker - The Way In Program for Older Adults
Permanent 1.0 FTE (37.0 Hours per week)


Position Summary
The Way In Network Outreach Worker provides support to older adults living in the City of Calgary.

The Way in Team at JFSC provides support to older adults living in the southwest and southeast areas of Calgary.

The position includes assessment of needs, planning and implementing interventions, supporting clients, making referrals and evaluating client outcomes. This position requires teamwork and an interest in collaboration and consultation. Our services are provided through a strengths-based, client-centered perspective.


Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor of Social Work or related field is required; eligibility for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers is preferred
• Must be proficient in English
• Minimum of two years' experience in the human services field
• Knowledge and interest working in gerontology
• Knowledge of community resources and services available to older adults
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
• Organized and proficient at managing time, ability to prioritize and manage needs of caseload
• Case management skills and ability to maintain accurate client records and statistics
• Strong computer skills
• Valid driver's license and vehicle required
