Position:
Production Paint Prepper


Location:
Annacis Island, Delta, BC


Shift:
Monday to Thursday, 01:30 PM to 12:00 AM, Afternoon - 10 hour shift (Shift differential paid for Afternoon Shifts)


Department:
MFG - Paint**
Reporting to: Production Supervisor


PURPOSE:

This position's primary responsibility is prepping various parts and materials for bodywork and paint.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Prepare galvanized steel/FRP or PVC for paint adhesion, using various tools such as: air powered orbital sander, Scotch
  • Brite pads, files, sandpaper or air powered die grinder.
  • Repairing general damage, including cracks and dents on various parts
  • Performs quality repairs without passing on defects.
  • Hang prepared product on racks for painting.
  • Degrease product for painting
  • Assists painter in daily tasks.
  • Ensuring appropriate materials and tools are available to meet production deadlines.
  • Ensuring proper maintenance of equipment and effective use of consumables.
  • Participate in weekly department meeting.
  • Participate in department training.
  • 5S cleaning, organizing, sustaining Paint department.
  • Responsible for safety ensure best practices are followed.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:


  • Experience in using power tools.
  • Experience in a paint production or manufacturing environment
  • Willingness to contribute to a safe work environment by following all Company health and safety rules and policies.
  • Able to lift a maximum of 50 lbs. repeatedly daily.
  • Exposure to lean manufacturing preferred
  • Able to follow processes, procedures and/or instructions from Supervisor or lead hand.
  • Ability to work and contribute to a team environment.
  • Good communication skills
  • Self motivated with the ability and stay on task with mínimal supervision.
  • Able to meet tight deadlines in a fast paced, creative, fun, and positive environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team, selfstarter and energetic.
  • WHMIS Training Preferred
  • Available for overtime as requested. Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
