- Cutting, shaping, and welding steel and iron materials to create custom components for structural elements such as beams, columns, and girders is also required.
- Operational proficiency with cranes, hoists, and other rigging equipment is necessary for positioning heavy steel beams, columns, and other metal components into place and securing them using bolts, rivets, or welds.
- A formal apprenticeship program or vocational training in ironworking is preferred.
- Previous experience in ironworking, steel fabrication, or related construction trades is also highly valued.
