Job Summary
WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
Assists in implementing and supporting hardware, software and telephony systems which provide the infrastructure for Customer Support. Applies experience and seasoned knowledge, skills, and practices to perform a variety of assignments. Our Storage Technical Analyst provides first level storage and backups Infrastructure support for RBC globally.
You will provide the support and management of RBC's Global NAS, SAN, Storage Fabric, Backup and Recovery, Cloud environment including storage allocation, data replication, monitoring, performance, and capacity analysis.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?- 24x7 Support for all RBC storage infrastructure components working on a shift rotation.
- Assist global platform teams with critical production support where escalation is required to lead in troubleshooting and service restoration.
- Help drive operational transformation by continuously looking for ways to automate existing Tech Infrastructure processes.
- Support for Storage infrastructure implementation and management including IBM, EMC Dell, Pure Storage, Brocade, Netapp, Cohesity and other related products.
- Fully Integrate into global storage support model.
- Regular and continued interactions with Storage support and engineering teams.
- Perform production readiness reviews (performance, security, maintainability) on all production bound SRE solutions regardless of region or line of business.
- Assist with hardware installation and hands on activities.
- Assisting in translating business needs into technical requirements. Performing all required tasks to ensure technical availability.
- Assisting in interpreting operational results. Analyzing usage patterns and establishing schedules and procedures for maximum utilization of the system.
- Maintaining reports and reporting tools for traffic management, service centers and enterprise partners.
- Interacting with other organizations to develop solutions for anticipated technical needs in support of business objectives.
Must have:
- BA, MA or MS or equivalent with emphasis in Information Technology & Systems Administration.
- Minimum 5 years' experience working in a Storage Administration function.
- Solid understanding of NAS, SAN, BUR, Cloud, Fabric, Networking, Linux, AIX, Windows, Automation & general IT concepts. Advanced experience in a variety of IT infrastructure platform environments.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- 24x7 Oncall support for emergencies/issues
Nice-to-have:
Experience in a variety of SRE-based tools (Ansible, Python, Dynatrace, Moog, PagerDuty, ServiceNow, Elastic, Logstash, Kibana)
