Scope


The City of Surrey is currently recruiting for auxiliary Pool Service Workers to join our team at the Newton Wave Pool.

In this position you will be responsible for a combination of operational, technical and building maintenance work.

Hours of Work:
Non-standard hours - 9pm-5am with the potential of additional hours.


Responsibilities:

Assists in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of pools and related systems components.
Completes treatment of pools and related systems components.
Investigates issues and malfunctions.

Cleans and vacuums pools, performs mechanical and chemical procedures, tests/regulates water levels and ensures that water purity and cleanliness meet established standards.

Inspects, repairs, and maintains swimming pool equipment including pumps, valves, chlorinators, heating units, boilers, filters, chlorine tanks, pipes, meters, and motors.

Prepares and maintains documentation, records and files related to the work.
Receives and handles pool chemicals.
Cleans, polishes, and maintains pool equipment and decks.

Performs janitorial and custodial tasks and ensures that pool facilities are maintained at an established level of cleanliness and sanitation.


Qualifications:


Valid BC Driver's License Pool Operators Level II Emergency First Aid Completion of Grade 12 supplemented by at least 2 years of related experience in the operation and maintenance of pool equipment.

Hourly Rate:
$ 35.43

Conditions of Employment

This position requires completion of a Police Information Check.
