Description

Fowler Construction is seeking an Industrial Electrical Apprentice to assist and work under the supervision of the Electrical department and acquire first-hand experience of the trade, with the goal of becoming a licensed electrician.

• Read, interpret, and execute drawings, schematics, blueprints, and electrical code specifications for industrial electrical equipment installation and repair.
• Test electrical equipment and parts for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance.
• Install, repair, or replace electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, and line assemblies, lighting, alternative electrical parts, generators and industrial storage batteries.
• Perform preventive maintenance and testing of electrical systems.
• Receive instruction and follow directions as provided by the Electricians.
• Work on electrical failures and replace components wherever required as directed by the Electricians.
• Perform other duties as required, such as maintenance on plants.
• Complete work with attention to detail.
• Conduct yourself in a professional and mature manner.
• Any other duties as required.

• Highschool diploma, or equivalent.
• Firsthand electrical experience or completion of a recognized electrical preapprenticeship program would be considered an asset, but not compulsory.
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work with a team.
• Ability to work in a fastpaced environment.
• Must be able to stand, lift 50 lbs., carry, bend, and reach.
• Punctual and reliable.
• Maintain a valid driver's license.
• Must be willing to acquire a DZ license.
• Mechanical aptitude.

• Travel to various sites will be required.
• Outdoor environments; and various weather conditions.
• Weekend and evening work may occasionally be required.
