Responsibilities

  • Assist the Financial Controller with all accounting functions, including bank and credit card reconciliations, payroll, monthly accruals, and financial reporting
  • Lead the accounts payable process, including recording vendor bills, reconciling to vendor statements, and preparing summaries for vendor payments
  • Preparing regular internal reports
  • Analyzing the effectiveness and profitability of various processes and procedures
  • Review and analyze the costs for all business activities in order to find efficiencies
  • Assist the controller in the preparation of yearend documents for the external auditors and in responding to audit inquiries
  • Preparing cheques and deposits
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets
  • Work with the controller to perform monthly closing procedures
  • Record credit card payments and employee expense reimbursements
  • Work with our operations team to assist with the procurement of goods and services
  • Support other office staff with procurement needs and various ad hoc tasks as needed

Responsibilities

  • At least one year working in an accountingrelated role
- have, or are working towards, a CPA designation' and/or,
- have experience running payroll

  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision, as well as in a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to think analytically and to solve problems
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • An interest and ability to work in a startup culture
  • A natural curiosity, humility, and hunger for growth
  • Solutions focused mindset with a desire to build and improve
  • Adapts quickly to change and willingness to take on new tasks
