In this position you will work directly with local leadership to plan and implement the HR function.

You will provide oversight to the Company and make recommendations based on a thorough understanding of the applicable Canadian legal framework and HR best practices, and provide support and guidance in a wide range of HR areas including recruitment and selection, total compensation, performance management, employee relations, and compliance.


This is a 13-month fixed term contract with expected duration of September 2023 through October 2024.

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Oversee fullcycle recruitment process including working with leaders to understand business requirements, updating job descriptions, creating job postings, conducting interviews and sending out offers of employment
  • Enhance and conduct employee orientation and training
  • Coordinate with the global HR team to align activities and ensure consistency between sites
  • Provide guidance to global team on Canadian laws and best practices on a variety of topics
  • Utilize the HRIS (Bamboo) to maintain historical and current human resource records to ensure legal compliance, pull reports and understand the business context
  • Manage the annual performance review process including planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results
  • Provide guidance to Canadian team on annual compensation review process
  • Support annual review of benefits programs and
  • Maintains management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures.

Job Requirements:

  • Diploma or degree from a university or college in Human Resources, Business or related field, or equivalent work experience in HRfocused roles
  • 35 years of HR Generalist experience in progressively challenging roles
  • Experience and knowledge of HR best practices for small
- to medium-sized enterprises

  • Proficient in MS Office, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook
  • Experience in use of HRIS systems
  • Experience maintaining or implementing full range of HR functions
  • Experience and knowledge of manufacturing or industrial sector considered an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationshipbuilding skills
  • Solid organizational and time management skills
  • Critical thinking and effective problemsolving abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
