We are currently looking to recruit up to four regular full-time Maintenance Worker Utilities in our Water section of the Public Works Division.

As a Maintenance Worker Utilities, you will be performing skilled manual work repairing, maintaining, and constructing waterworks infrastructure.

You will also ensure City fire hydrants and pumps are operating efficiently in addition to repairing or replacing water mains, services, valves, and pressure reducing valves.

You will also operate relevant equipment such as hand held tools such as cut off saws, road saws, jumping jack, and power broom, snow plows and heavy equipment up to and including tandem axle dump trucks.


  • Have completed at least Grade 12 education.
  • Have considerable related work experience in water or sewer/drainage systems.
  • Have completed relevant postsecondary courses in Public Works.
  • Possess sound knowledge of the principles, practices, methods, materials, tools and equipment used in water or sewer/drainage systems infrastructure maintenance.


This position will require you to work as part of a team and to demonstrate excellent customer service skills with members of the public and co-workers.
