    As the Assistant Manager of Distribution Services, you will be responsible for the overall success of the Distribution team, inclusive but not limited to the day-to-day functions related to the effective operation of the receiving dock (reception and coordination of deliveries of bulk shipments to the downtown core and Scotia Conference Centre), scheduling and delivery of mail to Scotia Capital and Wealth Management branches, processing inbound and outbound registered mail, and Canada Post metering/postage services. Additional responsibilities include the processing of various special bulk mailings for Scotia Capital and Wealth Management, addressograph services and providing print solutions for various lines of business and processing of photocopying jobs by the Copy Centre.

    • Lead and drive a customer-focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge


    • Take ownership over all partner inquiries/concerns/complaints and those matters within your discretion, to the Partner's satisfaction or by referring the partner to the appropriate person


    • Provide monitoring, tracking and reporting of service volumes and trends to the manager while, proactively identify ways to improve processes and operational efficiencies and reduce expenses


    • Serve as the bank's key contact for SM/Scotiabank Canada Post account (SM and process domestic and international invoices in a timely manner by the established process


    • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.


    • Create an environment in which your team pursues effective and efficient operations of respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

    Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?- We'd love to work with you if you have:

    • A college degree or related experience

    • The working ability to manage several priorities simultaneously which will include the delegation of assignments and following up with staff

    • Proficient use of PC skills for standard programs MS Excel, MS Word, and Lotus Notes).

    Working Conditions

    • The incumbent works in a production mailroom environment. The position can be physical with the lifting of heavy objects, bulk packages, mailings, etc. There can be stress resulting from tight deadlines and service obligations and requirements. Occasional overtime may be required during peak periods.
