We are seeking a dedicated and experienced HR Business Partner to join our Human Relations team and play a key role in supporting our The Salvation Army.
As an HR Business Partner, you will have the opportunity to guide employees and leaders on HR strategy implementation to Job evaluation, Performance management, Labour Relations Management, conduct workplace fact finding, Employee Relations and so much more.
If you're ready to leverage your HR expertise to support The Salvation Army's mission and make a positive impact in the community, we want to hear from you This position provides human resources expertise and guidance for Divisional Headquarters, ministry unit (MU) leaders and employees in the division.
The incumbent collaborates with and provides recommendations on recruitment and retention, salary administration, job evaluation, performance management, sensitive employee relations matters, leaves and disability management situations, and workplace wellness, health, and safety.
This position supports the delivery of human resources programs, services, and initiatives.Job Evaluation Support Management
Support DHQ management and MU leadership with the development or revision of job descriptions and through the territorial job evaluation process
Leave and Disability Support Management
Develop, assess, revise, and communicate Divisional leave, disability and workplace injury processes for effectiveness and efficiency
Collaboratively manage and maintain effective disability management for the region/division
Manage disability claims and leave of absence of DHQ staff and support MUs
Provide training and support to the Ministry Units in the area of disability management
Manage WCB/WSIB/WorkSafe claims for DHQ
Provide support to the Ministry Units with workplace injury claims and E-Claims processes
Provide attendance management tools to DHQ and Ministry Units
Provide consultation and expertise to MU leaders on employee relations and performance management matters
Case manages critical issues at the delegation of supervisor
Participate in Divisional Human Relations strategic planning
Recruitment
Review and maintain DHQ's recruitment and orientation procedures and associated documentation
Assist DHQ management in the recruitment and orientation cycles
Support the Youth Department with recruitment for Divisional Camping Ministries
Provide Ministry Units with recruitment and hiring packages as necessary
Administration, HR Processes, File Documentation and Data Integrity
Create and implement effective human resources practices and processes within DHQ and, as necessary the division
Support HR Operations and MUs with HRIS data audits to ensure HRIS data integrity
Communication and Training
In collaboration with the Human Relations Director, develop and implement training strategies for DHQ and the MUs
Participate in development, implementation, and facilitation of training initiatives, providing tools and materials to MUs to facilitate training initiatives, in collaboration with territorial staff
Provide training materials and tools to the MUs
Conduct training analysis and make recommendations to the Human Relations Director
Collaboratively create, revise DHQ's health & safety policy and procedures
Act as the management co-chair of the joint health & safety committee
Maintain and revise Annual Workplace Risk Assessments
Completion of a university degree in social sciences, human resources, or related field
Completion or working towards completion of valid HR designation (i.e., Minimum five (5) years progressive experience in a human resources generalist role
Strong working knowledge of applicable HR legislation and regulations within the Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, and all other applicable legislation and regulations
Working knowledge of human resources information systems; Proficient with computer and Microsoft applications
Labour relations experience an asset
Valid Ontario Class "G" Driver's License; Flexible self-starter, ability to multitask, strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to collaborate cooperatively with other managers, community partners, and to create a working climate that is positive and mutually supportive
