Position Summary


UHN Digital is one of the largest public sector health-care information management and information technology (IM/IT) service delivery organizations in Canada.

As department of University Health Network (UHN), UHN Digital, is committed to its vision of transforming health-care delivery by improving the patient experience, addressing issues facing coordination of care and enhancing customer service and quality through outstanding project management and operational support.


Duties

  • Manage the EUD Service Now queue to triage and resolve Level 3 incidents on Epic devices
  • Perform Level 3 EUD technical support for users who experience technical difficulties in using Epic devices by accessing Epic to amend/update configurations for EUD
  • Maintain maintenance protocols and troubleshooting guides for the end user devices such as desktop/laptop PC's, Rover devices, barcode scanners, label printers, network printers, WorkstationsonWheels for clinical users in hospitals
  • Support and collaborate with Level 1 and Level 2 support teams for enterprisewide technical support services to manage EUD devices in the hospitals
  • Maintain accurate monitoring and tracking of operational end user device inventories in Epic.
  • Assess current hardware, collect device inventory, develop floor plans for mapping devices, perform site assessment and gap analysis based on highlevel requirements standards of each area for new Epic devices
  • Engage with third party vendor suppliers, receive new device versions for testing in a Device Lab, simulate future state procurement and deployment, configurations builds, and workflow testing
  • Develop good working relationship with end users by visiting clinical locations in hospitals, working with frontline managers as needed to assess concerns or issues related to end user hardware.
  • Coordinate with the Application Analysts to provide peripherals, storage and other hardware needed for ongoing operational testing and deployment

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Health Informatics, Engineering, Business Administration or related discipline from an accredited institution is required;
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in troubleshooting end user devices' issues in hospitals
  • Experience with deployment of Epic devices in hospitals
  • Strong technical expertise in developing technical specifications and troubleshooting issues with Epic end user devices in hospitals
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal and negotiations skills including outstanding written and verbal communications skills;
  • Strong hospital onsite technical support skills
  • Certification in ITIL preferred
