We have an exciting opportunity on our Supply Chain Team for a Demand Planning Manager. This is a hybrid role and is based out of our Mississauga location (60% in-office, 40% remote).


The Demand Planning Manager owns the final demand call for all categories within the Canadian Business Unit analyzing and accurately projecting demand through the consensus process with sales, marketing, finance, and the Canadian Senior Leadership Team (CSLT) as well as US stakeholders to meet forecasting targets and deliver business predictability and necessary product supply.

Primary Responsibilities

(50%)

Forecast Development

  • Owns total Canada Retail 24month forecast for all Categories
  • Ownership of Customer Team Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process, to understand all key drivers of change versus prior projections and prior year
  • Build consensus forecast, combining Sales call and Marketing activity inputs and opinions into an accurate unconstrained demand plan
  • Clearly communicate all assumptions, drivers, risk and opportunities within and outside of the forecasted call
  • Develop the Stock Keeping Unit (SKU)/location level forecast, from the Material Price Group (MPG) level forecast using SAP/Advanced Planning and Optimization (SAP/APO) system tools
  • Responsible to achieve SKU level lag 1 Forecast Accuracy and Bias targets
  • Develop the Annual Operating Plan forecast, with clear communication of building blocks and assumptions, gaps to Strat, waterfall charts, and risks and opportunities (R&Os).

Demand Reporting and Process Improvement

  • Provide Weekly Forecast Change reporting and analysis to crossfunctional business leaders
  • Report and track Risks and Opportunities, aligned with Marketing, Sales and Commercialization teams
  • Provide an accurate display ready pack (DRP) and Shipper forecast to 3rd party repacker and finance teams
  • Provide teams with Innovation sales trending and forecast changes, understanding and challenging ongoing assumptions
  • Adjust historical shipment data anomalies, to minimize future negative impacts
  • Ensure Discontinued SKU's are forecasted properly, to minimize write off.
  • Oversight for call on categories provided by the Demand Planner

IBP Process

  • Communicate Demand changes and drivers in Supply Review and understand supply constraints and impact to demand/sales
  • Provide Demand planning data, insights and opinion in Category Internal Reconciliation and Review (IRR), Finance IRR and Monthly Business Review (MBR)

Demand Analysis

  • Perform Midmonth sales projections and trend analysis to call out risk/opportunity to the call
  • Identify Customer specific trends and issues to the Sales Team leadership
  • Actively work with Supply Planning in the US to anticipate and address issues early, and provide accurate timely data to business teams
  • Analyze APO Statistical forecast accuracy and modify statistical models as needed

  • Coach and develop direct report(s) for improved performance and career development
  • Take part in Managerial training for development and improvement
Minimum Requirements

Education:
College Diploma, preferably University degree - specialization in Business

Experience: 5-8 years' experience in Supply or Demand Planning
