    Role Description

    Reporting to the Chief Power Engineer, and on a 24-hour rotating shift basis, the Power Engineer will monitor, inspect, adjust, and control all power production, auxiliary, and facility equipment to assure safe, legal, continuous, and efficient operation. Troubleshoot and evaluate problems as they arise, locating source of malfunction and performing minor repairs as required. Respond to emergency situations, providing timely and appropriate resolution as well as other related duties as assigned.

    Your responsibilities will include:

  • Daily operation of biomass and oil-fired boilers
  • Care and maintenance of steam boilers and auxiliary plant operation
  • Daily operation and maintenance of lumber dry kilns
  • Monitor and maintain all equipment to prevent downtime and minimize energy waste.
  • Perform regularly scheduled preventative maintenance on boilers and related machinery.
  • Collaborates as part of a team to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain assigned areas and equipment ensuring cleanliness and order at all times.
  • Your Qualifications

  • Trade Certification or Associate's Degree.
  • Interprovincial Third-Class Power Engineer License.
  • 2+ years experience in a high-pressure plant (steam) or similar industry.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail and excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays as the operation runs 24/7.
