Your Opportunity:


Reporting to the Unit Manager of the Northern Alberta Urology Centre (NAUC) Clinics, the Administrative Assistant III is a member of the inter-professional health care team supporting patients and families attending the Northern Alberta Urology Centre.

This position is primarily responsible for scheduling patient appointments and procedures in collaboration with other members of the inter-professional health care team, including the patient and their family.

The Administrative Assistant III position will confirm patient appointment bookings and appointments via letter mail outs and phone calls to the patients.

Other duties for the Booking Clerk III will be to answer phone calls from patients, families and the general public and ensuring that all phone calls are returned in a timely fashion and/or transferred as appropriate to other members of the inter-professional team.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Completion of post-secondary education (e.g., course(s) in business administration, medical office assistant), or other related fields. Demonstrated understanding of the clerical and clinical supports needed for urology and oncology patients.

Minimum of three years recent experience in a health care based organization (medical office or hospital setting) is required within the past 5 years.

Demonstrated superior working knowledge of Netcare and ConnectCare. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet timelines with mínimal supervision. Self-direction, adaptability and flexibility while working in a fast-paced, multi-faceted work environment. Walking, sitting or standing for extended periods frequently required. Ability to push/pull weights of up 50 kg on an occasional basis.


Preferred Qualifications:

Preference given to those with experience in an ambulatory setting, urology and/or surgery. Heart & Stroke Foundation CPR BLS - MCP an asset.
