The Provincial Drug Reimbursement Programs (PDRP) unit administers several funding programs for high cost drugs (e.g., cancer therapies) and services on behalf of the Ontario Ministry of Health (ministry).

As part of the Clinical Institutes and Quality Programs (CIQP) portfolio, PDRP provides timely access to high-cost treatments and services, while ensuring the rational use of limited health resources.


PDRP's responsibilities include administration of the New Drug Funding Program, the High Cost Therapy Funding Program, the Evidence-Building Program and the Case-by-Case Review Program.

PDRP administers Ontario Health's Out-of-Country programs, providing access to cancer drugs, services and genetic testing.

PDRP adjudicates funding requests for CAR T-cell therapy, offers an Evidence Search and Review Service, and is the home of the Canadian Cancer Real-World Evaluation (CCRE) Platform, a Core Network Partner of the Canadian Agency for Drugs and Technologies in Health (CADTH)'s post-marketing drug evaluation program, CoLab.


Ontario Health is establishing an Infectious Diseases (ID) Advisory Committee to provide clinical guidance and advice to Ontario Health on infectious disease issues (e.g., the appropriate use of therapeutics for COVID-19).

This will include providing evidence-informed advice on treatment strategies, recommendations on place in therapy for new or existing anti-infective therapies, and advising on conservation strategies where anti-infectives are in short supply.

The Provincial Drug Reimbursement Programs unit will provide the secretariat for the committee.

The Lead will play a critical role managing the day-to-day operations of ID Advisory Committee Secretariat.

The Lead will oversee the management of individual projects by determining project milestones; resourcing, scheduling and tracking project progress; managing documentation, communication and operational reporting.

The success of this initiative in providing timely and relevant will be dependent on the effective project management and operational planning from this role.


Here is what you will be doing:
In this newly created role, this Lead will be accountable for tracking the work of the secretariat.

Working in collaboration with other members of the secretariat and with the PDRP team, the Lead will have the following responsibilities.- Develop project work plans in coordination with the pharmacist, senior advisor, Clinical Lead, and PDRP/OH leadership.- Define objectives, prioritize key activities, assign accountabilities and develop deliverables.- Lead the support of the ID Advisory Committee, including the preparation of agenda and meeting materials, and the coordination of the meetings themselves, ensuring meetings are planned and coordinated so that committee members have all information necessary to efficiently make clear, actionable, and relevant recommendations to Ontario Health.- Manage documentation requirements, including the preparation of minutes and related committee outputs.- Work internally to support the distribution and uptake of guidance advice from the ID Advisory Committee to relevant stakeholders.- Lead internal reporting, tracking query-specific parameters for internal program management- Develop and refine systems, tools and templates to establish standardized processes, measure progress, and enable efficiencies.- Working with the Senior Advisor and Pharmacist, develop program metrics and a performance dashboard for internal and external audiences.- Develop relationships with colleagues within the Secretariat, withing PDRP and across the organization.- Foster culture aligned to the purpose and values of the organization and support equity, diversity and inclusion.- Demonstrate leadership and integrity in interactions with internal and external stakeholders.
