We are currently seeking motivated individuals who are already trained and experienced as Hydrovac Operators/Technicians. Prior experience necessary.

Summary of the job position:_ Working under the supervision of the field manager, he/she will be responsible for all phases of any projects by planning, execution, and management to meet or exceed client expectations.


Responsibilities

• Assisting Foreman
• Read and interpret plans or diagrams and perform required work, Locate & verify all utilities before construction
• Work under customers' standards for Fibre Optic installation
• Transport cargo and/or equipment in a safe manner
• Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, and other equipment, and monitor vehicle performance and mechanical fitness
• Must be hands on, operate power tools, equipment when needed (e.g. compaction jumping jacks, cut saws, air compressors and generators, a trencher, backhoe, excavators, directional drills)
• Completes necessary paperwork and related documentation as required by Foreman
• Adheres to all Company safety policies and procedures.
• Will perform all other duties as required by Foreman
• Possibly run the site in case Foreman not on site

Qualifications
-
Valid driver's G licence

• Must provide a clean driving record (abstract) and criminal check prior to employment commencing
• At a minimum, the position requires a good working knowledge of telecommunications construction
• Experience in the utility's construction field
• Must be able to read prints and have knowledge of the underground process.
• Ability to operate equipment, including, but not limited to a trencher, backhoe, excavators, directional drills.
• Comfortable around underground utility services.
• Must possess and exhibit strong safety acumen and demonstrate safe work practices.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Good communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment.
• Willingness to follow INTUS best practices
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with managers, peers, and clients and maintain excellent communication between members of the team and clients
• Ability to operate all equipment functions independently and safely
• Ability to work with mínimal supervision

Physical Requirements

• Hear and distinguish emergency signals and instructions while on duty.
• Must be able to repetitively sit, lift, stoop, bend, squat, kneel, reach and crawl.
• Must be able to repeatedly lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work in all outdoor elements for extended periods of time.
• Confined Space Entry may be required to accomplish tasks for some clients when applicable.
• Be able to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
• Must be able to climb ladders, and work from stationary platforms from elevated heights.
• Must be capable of working extended hours and variable shifts.
• Must be eligible to work in Canada.
