Certified Utility Arborist - North Vancouver, Canada - NGS Contracting Ltd

NGS is looking for full-time (40 hours per week) hardworking Certified Utility Arborists (CUA).


Responsibilities:

• Tree trimming within limits of approach on utility powerlines
• Conduct all types of tree pruning as well as hazard tree removals in a safe and experienced manner
• Supervise and lead a supporting, experienced ground crew
• Prepare, operate, and maintain all tools and equipment, including trim saws, chainsaws, aerial lifts, chippers and more
• Oversee site set up, clean up and site safety

Qualifications required:

• Certificate of Qualification of Utility Arborist (CUA)
• Previous utility tree trimming experience preferred
• Previous climbing experience preferred
• Rigging knowledge
• Physically fit and able to lift and carry 50lbs
• Valid BC drivers license with 5ton truck driving experience and air brake endorsement

Additional Job Information:

• Full time, year round, outdoor position
• Requires reliable personal vehicle to get to North Vancouver yard each day

- _MUST CURRENTLY LIVE_ in the Lower Mainland of Vancouver, BC

• Availability for some outoftown work. Temporary outoftown contract work will occur each year. Accommodation is provided during these contracts, as is a daily "Live Out Allowance" (LOA)
• Current PSSP training certification preferred

The NGS work territory covers the North Shore, Squamish, Whistler, Pemberton as well as Howe Sound, the Sunshine Coast and Powell River areas.

Multiple areas within the Metro Vancouver area are also served.

Past and current projects have included:

• Climbing or aerial lift assisted tree removals along transmission powerlines in Capilano Watershed accessed via truck, hiking trails, boat or helicopter
• Post wildfire tree falling in Squamish and North Shore
• Neighborhood roadside Utility powerline trimming throughout the North Shore, Sea to Sky corridor, Sunshine Coast and Metro Vancouver
• Boat access only worksites on the North Shore and Howe Sound
• Hazard tree removals requiring a Crane
• Slashing and removing identified hazard trees in Whistler and Pemberton

Our multiple trucks and pieces of equipment are all current, in excellent working order and at the leading edge of vegetation management standards.

NGS operates:

• 5 Aerial Lift Trucks and Wood Chippers
• Tandem Rolloff Bin Truck
• Selfloading Log Loader Trailer
• Stump Grinder
• 2 Excavators with vegetation Mowing Heads
• Multiple crew Pickup Trucks

• TCP ( Traffic Control Person and/or Lane Control Tech certifications)
• Class 1, 3 or 5 with Air Brakes driving certifications

$30.00-$40.00 per hour
