What you will do:


  • Works with Operations and Technical groups to plan and execute system upgrade projects encompassing DCS software, firmware, hardware and networking equipment.
  • Provides technical assistance and system control expertise for the analysis/investigation of abnormal operating situations and daytoday DCS performance issues, and for their subsequent correction.
  • Provides user training and assistance to Operators, Maintenance and Technical personnel to ensure safe and competent use of the DCS and related Information systems.
  • Utilizes broad engineering and troubleshooting skills to ensure efficient maintenance and system security.
  • At times may have to make emergency repair or other decisions to minimize system downtime or abnormal operation and their related costs.
  • Participates in plant startups and shutdowns as required.
  • Maintains documents and administer DCS network, system policies and preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Stays up to date and informed of the latest Honeywell technical developments and cybersecurity vulnerabilities.

What you will bring:


  • BSc. Degree in Engineering or in a computer related field, System Technologist, or Instrumentation Engineering Technologist (5+ years of experience preferred).
  • Willing to work towards a Cisco Certified Network Associate or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of networking including switching, routing, and firewall management in an industrial environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of OT security fundamentals and the guiding OT Cyber-Security Frameworks. Willing to work towards a ISA or GICSP OT certification.
  • Knowledge of IT Security Technical regulations and requirements for server based operating systems.
  • Handson experience on Honeywell Experion DCS is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, planning, problemsolving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work alone and in a team.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple concurrent tasks in order to meet department goals/critical timelines demonstrating agility to provide technical support with quality work.
