Do you enjoy solving complex problems, building relationships with collaborators, and continuously learning in a fast-paced and innovative environment? As a member of the Process Development, Biologics team you will work alongside experienced Engineers and Scientists who collaborate closely on delivering robust, cost efficient, and innovative manufacturing processes for biologics products meeting appropriate regulatory and current good manufacturing practices (cGMP) requirements.

This is an exciting opportunity to leverage existing upstream process development and technology transfer experience and grow as we establish new workflows for higher regulated projects at STEMCELL


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, designing, executing, and reporting experiments enabling the development, optimization, and implementation of costefficient, scalable upstream protein production processes to meet project timelines and goals
  • Analyze data, provide conclusions and future plans, and present to crossfunctional teams
  • Develop SOPs and lead technology transfer activities into manufacturing
  • Participate in root cause investigations and assist in the execution of corrective and preventative actions for nonconformances
  • Assist in identifying, testing, and implementing new processes and process controls for manufacturing new and existing products

Knowledge and Qualifications

  • Bachelors with 6+ years, Masters with 48 years or PhD with 25 years of relevant experience in developing upstream protein production processes with mammalian cell lines
  • Handson experience running lab and pilot scale bioreactors is essential
  • Experience with high throughput experimentation and micro bioreactors is preferred
  • Experience with microcarriers is an asset
  • Experience with scaleup/down process models and concepts, DoE/statistical approaches, and Quality by Design (QbD) concepts to experimental design and data analysis is an asset

The annual base salary for this job ranges from:
$78, $118,000.00


STEMCELL determines an individual's pay within the range based on multiple factors including experience, education, job-related skills, and equity within the team or organization.

For jobs that are eligible for sales incentives, the range noted above is inclusive of target incentives; actual incentives are based on individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
