    Description
    We are looking for a Solution Architect for a 12-month contract position, with possible extensions in Calgary, Alberta. Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

    Hybrid schedule, at least 4 days in the office. 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week. It is NOT a remote role.

    Role Description
    The Solution Architect develops consistent application architectures that conform to enterprise architectural standards and portfolio roadmaps for projects in a particular program or business domain. This role is pivotal in delivering and maintaining solution architectures that best suits business and non-functional requirements. Individuals in this role possess a wide breadth of knowledge on how various technological components work together to deliver the desired functionality, understand key technology platforms as well as conceptual architecture components and planned target architecture states of the domain suite of applications and related technologies.

    Responsibilities
  • Architecture, management and integration of SAP S/4 and SaaS solutions.
  • SAP S/4 Architecture including skills and experience in migration from ERP to S/4.
  • Architecture and management of public and hybrid clouds and on-premises deployments and integration of SAP systems
  • Experience in Business Transformation, SAP ERP.
  • Deconstruct key business problems to identify value areas and structure and implement complex technology solutions based around SAP solutions
  • Provide solution architecture consultation and guidance to Project Managers in early project phases in collaboration with Portfolio or Enterprise Architects
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts on development of detailed non-functional requirements and aligning solution architecture to business requirements
  • Develop architectural design for solution(s) within the associated project or initiative, ensuring alignment with the architecture framework established by Strategy & Performance
  • Align solution to conceptual architecture provided by Portfolio and Enterprise Architects
  • Identify and evaluate architecture risks on projects and participate in defining mitigation and control activities
  • Provide expert technical leadership for the development of solution architecture and best practices to guide related projects or initiatives by:
  • Collaborating with Portfolio Architects regarding the development of solution architecture within enterprise standards and aligned to domain and technology roadmaps
  • Collaborating with Business Analysts Provide detailed specifications for proposed solutions
  • Collaborating with Application Advisors and other technical SMEs regarding the development of the detailed solution design
  • Development of Solution Architecture Design and Detailed Design Documents
  • Provide technical leadership within the project technical team (developers, configurators, etc.)
  • Working with the Application Manager/Lead to transition solution to Operations and produce Operational system documentation
  • Update existing solution architecture and design documentation to represent As-Built solution state
  • Participate with Portfolio and Enterprise Architecture on the solution design and technology selection/recommendation to ensure it conforms to enterprise architectural standards and future roadmaps
  • Participation in Architectural Review Board which is led by the Strategy & Performance as required
  • Ensure project compliance with the architecture governance

  • Client Management Experienced in effectively interacting and communicating with business analysts and business SMEs Can consolidate requirements and translate them into IT deliverables
  • Architecture Design
  • Advanced understanding of business analysis techniques and processes including SAP S/4 Architecture including skills and experience in migration from ERP to S/4.
  • Advanced understanding of business analysis techniques and processes
  • Experienced with several solution process design or re-engineering efforts in an integrated solution environment Has assessed potential implications of implementing solutions or their components on overall solution architecture and technology and business roadmaps Able to present the results and benefits of technical architecture including risks and technical debt implications Experienced in assessing business benefits, costs and risks on multiple types of projects Domain Knowledge Experience in relevant IT domain or business domain
  • Required Skills and Experience
  • University Degree or College Diploma in business or information systems or equivalent experience or combination thereof.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Solution Architect within an SAP ECC or S4HANA environment.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Solution/Project, Business, or Data Analyst.
  • 5 years of experience working with information technology in an oil and gas domain.
  • Strong understanding of SAP business processes in RTR/Finance
  • Technical integration experience with SAP and third-party applications
  • SAP development experience is an asset.
  • Sparx EA or knowledge of an equivalent architecture modeling tool and ArchiMate notation is an asset.
  • The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) Certification.
  • IT Architecture Certification (ITAC).
  • ITIL Foundations.
  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) is considered an asset.
  • Solid experience with Microsoft Visio.
  • Strong capabilities in Microsoft Office.
