Reporting to the Director, Finance, the Manager, Reporting & Budgets will play a significant role in advancing Dixon Hall's mission by maintaining high standards and supporting the continuous improvement of Dixon Hall's Finance department.

The Manager, Reporting & Budgets is responsible for overseeing the preparation of funder reports and budgets, contract analysis, budget proposals, and weekly cash flows.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee, monitor, and complete funder required financial reports, forecasts and budgets accurately and on time.
  • Review contracts and document financial requirements of those contracts to ensure Dixon Hall meets their obligations within established timelines.
  • Review and analyze monthly management financial statements for the purpose of identifying operational trends.
  • Interpret budget requests and develop financial proposals.
  • Assist with the preparation of the organization's annual budget.
  • Participate in the Agency's annual audit providing support to the independent auditor's process as required.
  • Oversee special projects related to Finance and Treasury Management (e.g. weekly cash flows).
  • Respond to queries on financial matters from both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Provide back up support for weekly electronic payments.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or a closely related field of study.
  • Current accounting designation (CPA).
  • Minimum of 6 years of accounting experience working at a senior level.
  • 35 years of experience managing accounting personnel.
  • Current knowledge of accounting standards and operational best practices.
  • Experience completing and reviewing funder reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a fullcycle budget process.
  • Ability to glean operational trends from financial statements and communicate the results of a financial statement review to stakeholders throughout the organization.
  • Experience drafting and reviewing financial statements, with accompanying notes.
  • Excellent computer skills including a working knowledge of Office365 and SharePoint platforms, and familiarity with off the shelf accounting software packages.
  • Experience with Adagio accounting software preferred, but not required.
  • Superior organizational, analytical, problemsolving abilities; able to manage multiple projects and deadlines, prioritize, and take initiative.
  • Selfdirected and independent, as well as proven experience in working effectively as an interdisciplinary team member and in collaboration with other community professionals.
  • Experience in notforprofit accounting and grants management preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal English language communication skills with a clear ability to exchange knowledge; fluency in additional languages, relevant to the communities of service, will be considered an asset.
  • Must be qualified to work in Canada legally for the employer.
  • Able to provide a Vulnerable Sector Screening check with a 'Clear' or satisfactory result that meets the operational requirements of the Agency.
  • Must have uptodate vaccinations on COVID19 with a vaccine that has been approved for use in Canada.
