This is a 12-month assignment in Tunis, Tunisia.


The mandate stems from the Equality in Action Voluntary Cooperation Program (PCV), which is being rolled out in 12 countries and 3 regions over an eight-year period The PCV aims to increase the involvement of local partners in developing countries in inclusive, innovative and sustainable development initiatives that will advance gender equality.

Oxfam's role is to support these organizations, working with the most vulnerable and marginalized people, to claim and exercise their rights.

Here's what your daily life will look like:

Working closely with the Oxfam team and in-country partners, your mandate will be to:

  • Monitor and analyze the social-political situation concerning the North Africa (NAF) region.
  • Contribute to the elaboration of advocacy products such as notes, communications, letters or reports, which will be adapted to target groups.
  • Develop and maintain a network of contacts within the North Africa group and in the region.
  • Contribute to the organization of meetings, conferences, roundtables and/or knowledgesharing activities (training workshops).
  • Coordinate the implementation of influencing activities.
  • Contribute to the elaboration of the communication strategy for the NAF, in coordination with the Communication Manager.

For this mandate you must:


  • Be a Canadian citizen or have permanent resident status in Canada.
  • Have university degree in media studies, communications, journalism or another relevant field.
  • Have 3 years of relevant experience with NGOs.
  • Good knowledge e in the use of social media.
  • Good knowledge of advocacy, campaigning and use of social media platforms as well as video and image editing software such as Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, Avid, Photoshop, etc.
  • Be fluent in English and French, spoken and written (required);
  • Master the Office suite.
