Description
Maintains patient waiting areas, office paper-work, and front-desk areas in a manner that is organized and neat.

  • Scan documents into the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and into patient charts.
  • Ability to properly assign document types when inputting to EMR and patient charts.
  • Ability to navigate electronic medical records.
  • Exercises diplomacy, problemsolving and conflict resolution skills when handling patient complaints; refers patient complaints to appropriate designated personnel as needed.
  • Able to work in team environment and recognize the value of collaboration.
  • Performs daytoday administrative functions and general office duties including but not limited to word processing, copying, filing, faxing, answering phones and data entry.
  • Provides information to clinic callers according to the clinic's best practices; transfers calls as needed; works to ensure adequate phone coverage at all times.
  • Welcomes and greets patients/clients/visitors to the department in a manner that is helpful and friendly; determines purpose of visit and direct patients/clients/visitors to appropriate person or department(s).
  • Schedules patient flow to clinic following Doctors availability to allow efficient patient flow.
  • When scheduling appointment, carefully screens patients for new address, new patient visit and updates/ confirms patient demographics. Informs patient of adequate information that must be presented at time of visit.
  • Ability to navigate electronic medical records as per clinic guidelines
  • Must exercise utmost diplomacy and tact to provide excellent customer service for patients; practices confidentiality and privacy protocols in accordance to Clinic policies and Health Information and Protection of Privacy Manager

  • Promote and contribute to a safe, secure working environment.
Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to work independently to achieve objectives.
  • Demonstrates good organizational skills, managing time, workload and patient scheduled appointments.
  • Demonstrate ability to adapt to new or unexpected situations, flexibility in approach to patient and interpersonal situations.
  • Ability to build a good working relationship with patients, healthcare professionals and other members of the community.
  • Knowledge of the Health Information and Protection of Privacy Information Acts in addition to professional organizations ethics and standards of practice. Respect and understanding of confidentiality/ ability to maintain confidentiality regarding personal and sensitive information.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records or similar information systems.
Other Occupational Requirements

  • Current and clear criminal records check is required.
  • Must be able and willing to lift and carry up to 10 pounds.
  • Arm and finger dexterity required to operate computer keyboard and other office equipment.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
