As a tax lawyer, you will work in a stimulating environment on a wide range of complex matters involving taxation, corporate law and estate law.

Responsibilities

• Advise and assist clients on the legal and tax aspects of their estate planning, business operations, purchase or sale transactions, corporate reorganizations, real estate transactions or intergenerational transfers
• Draft legal opinions in taxation
• Draft memoranda describing the recommended steps and their legal and tax impacts
• Draft the legal documentation required for tax or estate planning transactions
• Draft various commercial contracts
• Prepare estate planning documents such as wills, powers of attorney and trusts
• Structure and document corporate transactions, particularly for complex estates
• Contribute to tax research and maintaining internal knowledge related to taxation
• Participate in drafting educational or explanatory content on tax and estate topics

What We Are Looking For

• Member in good standing of the Barreau du Québec
• Two to five years of relevant experience in taxation
• Specialized training in taxation such as a master's degree, DESS or CPA Canada's In-Depth Tax Course, or equivalent experience
• Intellectual curiosity and strong interest in taxation
• Proficiency in French and English, spoken and written
• Excellent legal drafting skills
• Team oriented mindset, professionalism and proactive attitude
