Pathology Summer Associate

Contract Duration: 6 months (May to October 2024)
***
Location: Saskatoon
***
Wage: $22hr - $29hr

_Formula for Success:
As Pathology Associate, you will join our Pathology Team, where you will be involved in _


  • Seed preparation and seeding disease of nurseries in the field.
  • Disease nursery plot maintenance and care including pest control and disease ratings.
  • Assist in the execution of Plant Pathology Lab tasks including fungal isolations and culturing.
  • Assist in Greenhouse and Growth chamber seeding, maintenance, and rating of disease projects.
  • A dynamic and passionate team with expertise in agronomy and plant pathology
  • Assist in creating a safe working environment for team.

Qualifications

_Ingredients for Success:
What We Look for in You _

A valid Class 5 Drivers License.


Strong agronomic competence attained through pursuing or having obtained your degree in Agriculture or another college along with experience in the Agriculture Industry.

Demonstrate problem solving skills.
Ability to be flexible and modify plans as situations arise minimizing impact on results.
Familiarity with or showing strong Interest in plant sciences, canola development and plant pathology.
Ability to deliver results in pursuit of both individual and team goals.
Desire to obtain valuable transferable skills such as time management, leadership and working independently.

  • Experience with working with plants in in field and/or greenhouse environment is an added benefit.
