To better serve the production industry's growing ambitions, our
Lighting & Grip team is looking for an eager and experienced individuals to join us in the role of
Generator Technician.

This is a full-time, permanent position located in Toronto.


Responsibilities

  • Generator specific tasks
  • Must be able to diagnose and repair brakes, transmissions, differentials, clutches, hydraulic systems, valves, pumps, vehicle electronics/diagnostics and electrical/lighting problems.
  • Perform regular maintenance scheduled services as per manufacturers recommendations on vehicles as needed.
  • Must work with frontline staff to order parts or provide details as needed to maintain stock and picks up parts from supplier as required.
  • Must be able to perform field service calls and repairs as needed.
  • Maintain a clean shop, storage area, parts room and working environment.
  • Must have knowledge of welding on nonstructural steel and aluminium equipment as needed.
  • May be required to perform minor sand blasting and body repair of equipment as needed.
  • Performs inspection and safety checks
  • Maintains accurate repair notes on work orders for company and to MTO compliance.
  • Must be able to operates vehicles to move in and out of garage and for road tests pre and post repair
  • Ensures that health and safety regulations are met
  • Perform other related duties as requested.
  • Generator Service Technician with a certificate from Fleming college or field experience.
  • Heavy Equipment Technician Certification (421A).
  • Knowledge of Diesel AC Generators along with the required knowledge and experience to repair and maintain them.
  • Extensive experience in all aspects of maintenance and repair with commercial vehicles and High Voltage Generators.
  • Must possess and be able to maintain a valid Province of Ontario, Class "G" Driver's licence and a clean abstract.
  • DZ or AR Driver's License would be considered an asset.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Must be punctual, organized and selfmotivated.
  • Must be physically capable of performing required duties.
  • Excellent communication skills are required.
  • Must possess own tools.
