    About this opportunity

    The Area Director is a critical leadership role that ensures achievement of operational outcomes in client experience, team member experience and business performance across the multiple clinics in their region. By creating an environment that exemplifies CBI Health's purpose, promise and values, this role builds, leads and inspires talented teams to deliver exceptional care, engagement, and results. Reporting to the Senior Vice-President, Operations Alberta, this role contributes to achieving company targets by executing on and ensuring direction and governance on operational accountabilities that align with CBI Health's near-term goals and strategic vision.

    The successful candidate will be based in Alberta, and available to travel to clinic locations within the province.

    Business Performance / Operational Excellence

  • Drive delivery of financial results within the region by ensuring effective execution and governance of established operational practices, and proactively identifying and addressing performance risks
  • Analyze operational performance metrics (e.g. clinical and business outcomes, and client and team member experience), to deliver continuous improvement, ensuring operational KPIs are met or exceeded
  • Ensure effective and efficient execution of nationally-designed service delivery models and processes, by leading adoption, identifying innovation opportunitiesand addressing gaps in performance/adherence
  • Ensure the health and well-being of clients and staff through compliance to policies and procedures and effective risk and facility management; Ensure compliance with all contracts, accreditations, and legislative/regulatory bodies
  • Collaborate with Area/Clinic Managers to proactively access national operations (Business Development, Training & Development, Contact Delivery/Business Services) and corporate business partners (IT, HR, Procurement, Facilities, Marketing, Communications, Legal) to meet contractual and business needs
  • Collaborate with Senior Vice-President, Operations Alberta to define and deliver region targets that align with CBIH's strategic vision
  • Leadership and People Management

  • Engage and connect with team members in partnership with Clinic/Area Managers to reach organizational goals and objectives, including quarterly in-person visits
  • Build, lead, develop and inspire a performance-driven Clinic/Area Managers, including ensuring the identification and development of future leaders
  • Drive team member experience by creating an environment that aligns with CBI Health's promise, purpose and values, by drawing and retaining high performing talent, ensuring role clarity and by ensuring Clinic/Area Management team deliver on the same
  • Implement regional engagement initiatives, executing on action plans derived from Engagement Survey results, Town Halls, Advisory Committees
  • Navigate the change required to fulfil the centralization initiatives of several back office functions.
  • Client Engagement

  • Ensure execution of company processes to drive a consistently great client experience for all clients, including governing clinic schedules to ensure timely access to services for our clients
  • Partner with Clinic/Area Managers and national operations and corporate business partners to address client concerns
  • Collaborate with Communications/Marketing to engage with local community, including sponsorship opportunities and addition of local contact to social media channels
  • Business Development

  • Maintain a current and comprehensive understanding of trends, stakeholder priorities, strategic direction, and gaps in service provision to identify opportunities and ensure the region is well positioned for revenue growth/operational improvement solutions to stakeholder challenges developed by national teams
  • Lead and support Clinic/Area Managers in driving local private acute referral development and partnerships
  • Deliver contractual KPIs in the region
  • Identify potential acquisition targets in area to refer to Corporate Development
  • What you need to be successful

  • Undergraduate degree in Health, Business or Health Administration(or equivalent work experience) preferred
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a general operational management role in a service-focused organization, ideally with experience in a senior management rolein a health care organization
  • Demonstrated ability in managing multiple operating units/sites
  • Strong leadership: The ability to inspire and motivate a team, set clear goals and expectations, and hold staff accountable for their performance.
  • Strategic thinking: The ability to think strategically and make decisions that align with the overall goals of the organization.
  • Excellent communication: The ability to clearly and effectively communicate with staff, corporate management, and other stakeholders.

  • Decisiveness: The ability to make decisions in a timely manner and take ownership of the consequences.
  • Flexibility: The ability to adapt to change and handle unexpected situations.
  • Effective time management: The ability to balance competing priorities and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Strong relationship building: The ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with staff, patients, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong business acumen: The ability to understand the financial and clinical aspects of the clinics and make decisions that support the financial goals of the organization.
  • Strong Interpersonal skills: The ability to understand, empathize and connect with people, to build trust and motivate them to achieve the common goals
  • Proven ability to manage complexity and change initiatives
