Permanent,
Full-time Operations Coordinator
position.

Job Summary


Reporting to the Operations Manager, the key areas of responsibility of the position are to fully understand the production and purchasing processes for the purpose of building BoM's, creating pricing, creating purchase orders and maintaining documents related to inhouse production as well as incoming products and raw materials from vendors.

To support this process the Operations Coordinator will develop ways of improving productivity and tracking demand on materials and finished goods.


Responsibilities

Responsibilities shall include but not be limited to:

  • Create all engineering and quotation documentation; ownership of BoM's (QM's, EM's)
  • Maintain the accuracy of engineering and quotation documentation in Visual, an ERP software.
  • Develop & maintain the accuracy of the production standards information
  • Investigate discrepancies in BoM's and monitor their accuracy
  • Coordinate with Engineering on the development of new products
  • Work with the purchasing manager to procure quotes and create purchase orders from vendors
  • Maintain the accuracy of vendor information and vendor part pricing in the ERP system
  • Coordinate with vendors and freight forwarding companies to maintain accuracy of receiving dates.
  • Coordinate with the production, shipping and receiving teams to ensure efficient information flow
  • Document shop floor SOPs and drive continuous improvement
  • Audit the use of SOPs on the shop floor, particularly in the area of QC
  • Work with Engineering to develop systems to facilitate a high level of quality plantwide
  • Create & maintain partspecific quality control documents
  • Create and maintain parts in Part Maintenance
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an Operations Management program or a demonstrated equivalent.
  • Must have experience with the use of ERP/MRP software.
  • Extremely proficient with Excel
  • Strong mathematical aptitude and an understanding of the general manufacturing process.
  • Good computer skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Detailoriented, selfstarter.
  • Familiarity with 2D CAD and Solid Works drawings is an asset
  • Plastics manufacturing experience is an asset
  • Procurement and supply chain management experience is an asset.

Other Requirements

  • Must be eligible to work in Canada.
  • Class 5 drivers license is an asset
  • Must be able to lift 25 Lbs of weight
  • Must be willing to travel to third party warehouse location as required
