We are looking for an
Trust Clerk to join our busy Accounting department.


Primary Functions
This position is responsible for processing trust accounting ensuring accuracy.

As well as creating on-line trust transfers and wire payment, the role is responsible to prepare LSO monthly reconciliations of client trust account/investments and assist in the development of trust policies in conjunction with COO.


Job Duties

  • Processes Trust Accounting cheque preparation, deposits/wires, cash management, client investments, trust transfers, and Teraview/Teranet registrations ensuring accuracy.
  • Create online trust transfers and wire payments.
  • Prepare LSO monthly reconciliations of client trust account/investments.
  • Reviews LSO trust policies to ensure firm is following procedures and monitor LSO changes and advise COO.
  • Assist in the development of Trust policies in conjunction with COO.
  • Process and post credit card payments.

General Accounting

  • Acts as a backup for weekly preparation of cash report.
  • Responsible for all Firm related online banking activities.
  • Cancel and reissue stale dated cheques.
  • Provides backup support to General Accounting Clerk.
  • Provide monthly negative disbursement reports and follow up with responsible lawyer to eliminate the negative disbursement.
  • Other duties as may be required as per department.

Firm Administration

  • Ensures that photocopying and filing are kept current.
  • Respond to general firm member inquiries in a timely manner.

Qualifications/Experience

  • Outstanding client service skills, along with strong attention to detail and organization skills is required.
  • 3 plus experience related to trust accounting experience is required.
  • Law firm experience is an asset.
  • Proficiency in using the firm's legal accounting system.
  • Ability to post, reconcile and generate reports.
  • Working knowledge of a word processing software such as Word.

Salary:
$60,000.00 per year
