Here is what you will be doing:

  • Thoroughly inspect rail cars, primarily hoppers cars
  • Perform rail switching of rail hopper cars
  • Operate Car Mover to index hopper cars thru the wash tracks and loading tracks
  • Wash and dry empty rail hopper cars
  • Load rail hopper cars with bulk polypropylene pellets
  • Office related duties some data entry
  • General Maintenance ("bolt on bolt off") as well as cleaning, housekeeping and snow removal
  • Look to expand the role into rail switching and/or locomotive operation

This is what we need from you:

  • A sound understanding or aptitude to learn the loading of bulk plastics
  • Understands, or willing to learn, railroad operations and safety
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Must be able to attend and pass all test associated with job related coursework.

This includes, but it not limited to:
IROR, CROR, WHMIS, TDG,

  • Willing to reliably fulfill the following work schedule: 12 hour rotating shifts (days and nights
  • A high school diploma
  • Experience in the petrochemical field or other industrial environment preferred
  • Locomotive operation and Railcar Mover operation experience is an asset
Here are some of the Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work outside in any condition
  • Must pass a preemployment physical, reference checks, drug screen, motorvehicle report and criminal background check
  • Must be able to climb on and off the equipment, ascend and descend a ladder
  • Must be able to stand, kneel or crawl
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs frequently
