Here is what you will be doing:

Thoroughly inspect rail cars, primarily hoppers cars
Perform rail switching of rail hopper cars
Operate Car Mover to index hopper cars thru the wash tracks and loading tracks
Wash and dry empty rail hopper cars
Load rail hopper cars with bulk polypropylene pellets
Office related duties some data entry
General Maintenance ("bolt on bolt off") as well as cleaning, housekeeping and snow removal
Look to expand the role into rail switching and/or locomotive operation

This is what we need from you:

A sound understanding or aptitude to learn the loading of bulk plastics
Understands, or willing to learn, railroad operations and safety
Mechanically inclined
Must be able to attend and pass all test associated with job related coursework.

This includes, but it not limited to:
IROR, CROR, WHMIS, TDG,

Willing to reliably fulfill the following work schedule: 12 hour rotating shifts (days and nights
A high school diploma
Experience in the petrochemical field or other industrial environment preferred
Locomotive operation and Railcar Mover operation experience is an asset

Here are some of the Physical Requirements

Ability to work outside in any condition
Must pass a preemployment physical, reference checks, drug screen, motorvehicle report and criminal background check
Must be able to climb on and off the equipment, ascend and descend a ladder
Must be able to stand, kneel or crawl
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs frequently
