    About the Position

    The Shipper/Receiver/Driver receives, stores, ships, distributes, issues supplies, equipment, and merchandise for the supplies and purchasing department as well as supports the THQ building.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    The incumbent is responsible for the following range of job duties characteristic, or typical of the job class:

    • Verifies all deliveries and shipments using related receiving documentation (Packing List, Bill of Lading, spreadsheet) to ensure the correct goods, description, quantity is shipped or received, noting damage and observations for claims for supervisor.
    • Prepares and packs outgoing items, processes shipments using shipping software, ensuring accuracy of entered information.
    • Verifies that materials received are as ordered in both type and quantity.
    • Ensures MSD sheets, if required are available for applicable goods.
    • Loads and unloads materials on to or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
    • Loads and unloads into vehicles. Uses hand tools to install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting damage in transit, when necessary.
    • Conveys materials to and from storage or work area to designated areas using hand truck, dolly or another device.
    • Counts, weighs, and records materials moved or handled on a daily production sheet.
    • Completes all necessary shipments/ logs/ manifests/ reports/audit documentation.
    • Attaches tags or labels to materials or otherwise marks information.
    • Prepares materials for customer/production orders, pack, and audit shipment to meet customer specifications/shipping method specifications.
    • Receives and processes the return of goods including the filing of appropriate and relevant documents as necessary.
    • Takes responsibility daily for the overall safety, maintenance and operation of vehicle, & maintains appropriate records of such.
    • Ensures that the vehicle maintenance work is completed in a timely manner and complies to CVOR standards.
    • Performs circle checks of trucks and maintains truck logs according to Ministry of Transportation guidelines.
    • Safe operation of a counterbalance fork lift according to published health and safety standards.
    • Provides customers with courteous and diplomatic service.
    • Works under minimal supervision on duties and tasks that are frequently non-routine, adapting procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and/or equipment to meet special needs.
    • Provides support for the mailroom services.
    • Manage workspace in a safe, neat and tidy condition.
    • May be required to provide coverage to other staff as required (i.e., cash out customers, print centre duties as assigned).
    • Participates with special events, orders, and projects and annual inventory counting.
    • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

    • Minimum secondary school education or equivalent
    • Minimum 2 years' work experience. Minimum of 3 months direct or related experience in the shipping receiving field using a variety of warehouse equipment and systems.
    • Stockroom pick/pack/receiving experience.
    • Experience using UPS World Ship or Canada Post eShip or their equivalents.
    • Must be a confident PC user with fast keyboard typing skills. Must know how to use Microsoft Office applications, Microsoft Outlook, Windows 10 Operating System.
    • Valid "G" class license with appropriate certification proof of clean driving abstract.
    • Valid Forklift training with proof of the same is an asset. Willingness to obtain within 6 months otherwise.
    • Valid dock safety course with proof of the same is an asset.

    • Demonstrated organizational abilities and an ability to work within a team environment.
    • Experience in digital printing.
    • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Ability to take direction positively.
    • Ability to relate to customers in a warm, enthusiastic, and personable manner.
    • Ability to work under demanding time restraints.
    • Ability to be able to multitask.

    Compensation

    The target hiring range for this position is $32,623 to $40,774 with the ability to progress to a maximum of $48,925. Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
