    Job Description

    Our client is a renowned international engineering consultancy. You will play a crucial role in the Sustainability Life Sciences European Organization, overseeing our sustainability objectives (environmental, social, and governance) in Life Sciences Ireland.

    Communications and Reporting:

    • Reporting directly to the European Director of Sustainability.
    • Participating in regular Life Sciences calls to manage and share resources.
    • Facilitating and fostering Global Integrated Delivery (GID).
    • Actively engaging with the Life Sciences network to align on best practices.
    • Collaborating with Project and Design Managers to address project issues proactively.
    • Working with Engineering Director and Discipline Managers to establish standards and best practices for sustainable solutions.
    • Coordinating with the Sales team to support sales activities related to sustainability.

    Key accountabilities include:

    1. Overseeing and managing the Sustainability Group, including recruitment, training, quality assurance, and timely delivery of engineering projects within budget.
    2. Leading the Sustainability Project on key projects.
    3. Delivering sustainable solutions in compliance with Irish regulations and business requirements.
    4. Incorporating sustainability requirements into designs including Security, Quality, Environment, Safety, and Health.
    5. Preparing sustainability budgets as part of Proposal Development and ensuring their implementation.
    6. Developing a resource plan for the Sustainability Group in alignment with the European Director.
    7. Agreeing on processes for sustainability verification with the Quality Manager.
    8. Supporting project teams in delivering sustainable scopes efficiently.
    9. Promoting the use of advanced tools and Lean Execution approaches within the group.
    10. Taking the lead on sustainability in projects and providing management to the Ireland Sustainability Group.

    Requirements

    • Engineering or similar Third level qualification (preference for Mechanical/Chemical/Environmental Engineering).
    • Demonstrated understanding of Sustainability's role in project delivery.
    • Understanding of Life Sciences processes and sustainability challenges.
    • Interpersonal and communication skills for effective internal and external communication.
    • Experience as a project leader in sustainability or related engineering fields.
    • Willingness to travel nationally and occasionally abroad.
    • Ability to identify and implement efficiencies in work processes.

    Ideally, you will also have:

    • Extensive management-level experience.
    • Knowledge of green building certifications such as LEED.
    • LEED Accredited Professional certification.
    • Understanding of energy modeling software and carbon calculations.
