Role & Responsibilities


The Automation Specialist will leverage their knowledge, training, and experience to improve the visibility and monitoring of Creative Energy's new and established district energy systems.

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the successful applicant will work closely with engineering personnel to drive the integration and visualization of existing and upcoming district energy systems.


Responsibilities include:

  • Integrate and commission devices and control systems.
  • Connect new and existing control systems and devices to the centralized historian.
  • Develop control documentation for new energy system constructions.
  • Program key performance indicators to monitor the efficiency of district energy operations.
  • Develop dashboards for monitoring district energy system key performance indicators.
  • Help maintain IT/OT DMZ hardware and software environment.
  • Provide input into improvement of current automation and cybersecurity practices.

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree or technologist diploma in relevant fields.
  • Industrial control systems experience strongly preferred (ex: systems integrations, commissioning, and startups).
  • Experience with industrial and building system communication protocols and networking (TCP/IP, OPC UA, BACnet, and Modbus are assets).
  • Programming experience (LUA and JSON are assets but not required).
  • Familiarity with HVAC technology (beneficial but not essential)
  • Strong aptitude for learning new systems and techniques.
  • A resourceful, creative approach to problem solving.
  • Valid Class 5 driver license.

Salary:
$75,000.00-$100,000.00 per year

Education:
