We have
1 NEW opportunity at our
Spruce Grove location available for
Red Seal/Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician for a safety-sensitive position in a safety-sensitive environment with experience working with Dozers and Haul Trucks of all major brands and models (CAT, Hitachi, Komatsu, John Deere).

This HET will work a
7/7rotation (Wednesday to Tuesday), alternating sets between days and nights. The HET will be motivated, committed and wants to grow with us.

Journeymen technicians in our Spruce Grove location will earn a base rate of $ $50.15/hour (NEW). In a regularly scheduled rotation (7/7) the tech will work 84 hours. 40 of those hours are paid at regular time, and 44 are paid at overtime.


+ Additional Compensation:

The Job

  • Check dozers, haul trucks, excavators and other heavy construction and mining equipment for proper performance of all major brands (CAT, Komatsu, John Deere, Hitachi)
  • Inspect equipment for defects and malfunctions
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
  • Repair and replace defective parts, components and/or systems
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance and that it meets or exceeds manufacturer's specifications

What We Need From YOU:


  • A desire to make a difference and take pride in your work
  • A minimum of
    3 years experience working with large construction and open pit mining equipment
-
MUST include in depth experience with CAT, Komatsu, John Deere and Hitachi

  • Excellent troubleshooting and technical skills
  • Superior mechanical aptitude
  • Shop and/or field work experience
  • Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices
  • Collaborative communication style
  • Selfstarter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A complete set of mechanics tools up to 3/4" drive
  • Ability to lift and manage 50 pounds without assistance

MUST be able to complete a Respirator Fit test and don a mask at any time while at work, which also means compliance with facial hair requirements to ensure a complete seal for the mask


As part of our Hiring Process, YOU will be asked to:

  • Provide a minimum of a Class 5 Driver's License with Air Brakes and
    clean Driver's Abstract
  • Provide a criminal record check
  • Complete drug and alcohol screening with a negative result
  • Complete a fitness evaluation related specifically to your position
  • Unrestricted access to mine sites
  • Provide copies of current certifications _(if you do not have any of the training required to be on site, we will provide it for you)_
