Multi-sport Coach

Job Summary:

Free Play for Kids is searching for dynamic, enthusiastic Multi-Sport Coaches. If you have experience coaching or playing all kinds of sports such as soccer, hockey, basketball, or flag football and love working with kids of all ages, we want you to join us


Education & Qualifications

  • Taking, or completed, a degree or diploma in Physical Education, Sport and Recreation, Kinesiology, Education, Sociology, Psychology, Early Childhood Education, or equivalent from a recognized post secondary institution.
  • Experience coaching/leading youth sport teams. Playing experience will be considered.
  • Valid certifications in coaching would be considered a major asset.
  • Standard First Aid Certification and CPR training.
  • Valid Driver's Licence with no at fault accidents.
  • Clear up to date vulnerable sector checks.

Responsibilities

  • Work with youth between the ages of 812 (Free to Play program) by facilitating in
- person programming in collaboration with a Youth and Sport Team Lead and other Multi-Sport Coaches.

  • Lead practices, games, drills and activities with the ultimate goal of keeping kids focused
in sessions, having fun, and being safe.

  • Conducting formal and informal skills assessments for program participants.
  • Completing additional training and certifications as required through the Free Play training program, such as Making Ethical Decisions and Safe Sport courses.
  • Must be able to travel to various locations within Edmonton.

Position Conditions

  • Hours of work are determined by program schedule and are typically Monday to Friday from 3:00pm5:30pm. Thursdays will run from 1:00pm5:30pm.
  • This is a parttime paid position approximately 1015 hours per week.
  • There is potential for extra hours during the season
Job is performed in a school and recreation setting, but work setting may vary depending on projects.

Part-time hours: 15 per week


Salary:
$18.00 per hour

  • Day shift

  • Weekends as needed
