IT Support Technician - Level 1

The Company
maxill manufactures and distributes a wide range of infection control, disposables, hygiene and dental preventative products. maxill has been providing quality products to Dentists, Health Care Institutions, Governments and many other customer groups since 1987.


The Location

Position Summary


IT Support Technician Level 1 role is to ensure proper computer operation so that end users can accomplish business tasks.

This includes receiving, prioritizing, documenting and actively resolving end user help requests and escalating incidents when considered appropriate and necessary.


In addition to assisting in IT operations, additional oversight such as CCTV, alarm system, employee card access, hour timings for HVAC, security gate and electronic door lock programming also fall under this scope.


Qualifications that you bring to the position:

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize, manage time, meet deadlines, multi-task, and work individually in a fast-paced environment
  • Pleasant mannerism and ability to get along with coworkers in a team environment
  • 1st Level information systems services problem resolution: problem definition, research and resolution
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 and Windows Active Directory
  • Experience with printer management and troubleshooting
  • Experience with remote desktop connection software
  • Network media experience including 10/100/1000Base T, 10GBaseR, 10Base2, xDSL and ISDN
  • Microsoft Desktop / Server Deployment, Software and Hardware Inventory
  • Platforms: Windows 10 and Windows Server Software Deployment Automation

Tools:
Disk Imaging, Patch/Software Release Management, Asset Management, System Monitoring + Working knowledge of TCP/IP protocol

  • Experience with VOIP installation and maintenance is desired
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Able to work evenings and weekends in response to the needs of the systems being supported
  • Ability to Travel (Locally)

Major Responsibilities

  • Provide support for laptops, printers, and peripheral devices including providing hardware and software setup and support
  • Maintain documentation regarding installation of software, configuration of hardware, troubleshooting, and support history
  • Maintain hardware asset management and software licensing
  • Engage vendor support contacts to resolve technical issues with computing equipment and software
  • Provide support for meeting room and audiovisual systems on premises
  • Escalate to Intermediate support as required
  • Participate in afterhours oncall rotation schedule (evenings, weekends, and holidays)
  • Other duties as required
