Overview:
Lafarge Canada is commissioning a new facility near Lake Wabamun that will reclaim landfilled ash from the area and repurpose it to make a usable product for concrete manufacturing.
The Sundance Reclamation facility will be the first of its kind to use the PABS technology from Ash-TEK to beneficiate landfilled materials.
The facility is an important part in Lafarge's goal to drive down greenhouse gas emissions worldwide.Lafarge is recruiting a
General Labourer at our Sundance Reclamaton Facility. Labourers are responsible for aiding in all areas of the plant. They participate in housekeeping, maintenance and other various tasks throughout the plant. A high level of safety practices must be used at all times.
Responsibilities:
- Receive oral instructions to determine work assignments.
- Perform general construction labor to include jobsite cleanup and moving of materials by hand.
- Operating motorized equipment including power tools, grinders, saws, hammers, etc.
- Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
- May assist with minor repairs and maintenance.
- Remove rubble and other debris in the facility.
- Complete Field Level Risk Assessments before beginning each task.
Qualifications:
Education Required:
- High School Diploma
Years of Experience:
- 12 years is preferred
Specific Experience:
- Prior experience in an industrial setting would be an asset
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors and in a noisy plant setting
- Safety Oriented
- Able to lift 50 lbs
- Able to work in a fast paced, high production environment
- Willing to work overtime and shifts when needed
- Able to work unsupervised
- Able to work well with others
- Good communication skills
- Valid class 5 driver's license
