Research Analyst, Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR)

Evidence synthesis
We are an independent consultancy in Vancouver British Columbia specializing in patient-centered research, epidemiology, evidence synthesis, and health economics. Our team comprises qualitative researchers, epidemiologists, health economists, statisticians, and IT specialists. Our projects are led by senior team members with extensive experience across a wide range of HEOR studies.

We have an expansive [AM1] network of external academic and clinical experts who collaborate on studies that lie within their core areas of expertise.


We are looking to hire an experienced research analyst to support systematic reviews, and a wide variety of other health economic and epidemiologic research projects.


Responsibilities may include:

  • Contributing to study design, protocol development, and implementation of systematic literature reviews (SLRs)
  • Conducting various SLRrelated tasks (e.g., abstract review, data extraction)
  • Note: strong skills developing literature searches in Medline, EMBASE, and Cochrane databases will be considered an asset
  • Contributing to the conduct of metaanalyses and network metaanalyses (NMA) by:
  • Supporting statisticians who will implement the analyses
  • Contributing to feasibility assessment and interpreting the output
  • Note: capability to conduct statistical analyses is desired but not a requirement
  • Communicating study results through developing slide decks, writing reports, and contributing to scientific publications
  • And potentially, based on skillset and interests, contributing to:
  • Epidemiologic study design and models
  • Economic models
  • Statistical analysis and data visualization (dependent on experience and training)
  • General research support
  • Client communications

Education:


  • This position requires the successful applicant hold an MSc or PhD in Epidemiology, Health Economics, Statistics, Biostatistics, or Public Health, or equivalent experience

Experience:


  • Two to four years of health research experience in a consultancy (ideal) or academic work environment
  • Experience with SLRs and NMAs
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint is required; familiarity with a statistical or data visualization package would be an advantage
  • Experience with observational studies or economic models will be considered an asset
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Salary:
$44,238.18-$85,189.79 per year
