  • What You'll Be Doing

    The Purchaser is responsible for supporting production by ensuring that the right quantity of the right product is in the right place at the right time. They actively partner with the operations and warehouse teams throughout the dynamic weekly production cycle to ensure purchase orders are executed and issued in response to demand. They are responsible for supporting the creation and execution of solutions for day to day inventory and supplier issues and for identifying and escalating larger risks to the supply chain leaders. They build and foster collaborative supplier relationships. They participate in both weekly KPI performance reviews and strategic continuous improvement initiatives.

    Job Duties

    As the Purchaser, primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    ● Work as part of a team to ensure the Production Facilities have the Right Product, in the Right Quantity, at the Right Time.

    ● Create purchase orders using best practices to support the weekly and daily production plans

    ● Communicate internally and externally with stakeholders, and ensure inventory availability for JIT production

    ● Act as first point of contact for suppliers and internal warehouse and provide resolution for inventory and delivery issues

    ● Support product lifecycle of promotional and stocked goods, ingredients and packaging materials from launch to ramp down ensuring availability and minimizing financial liability to the organization

    ● Identify and escalate risk (inventory availability, supplier capacity etc.) to team leader and support with analysis, recommendation and execution of solution

    ● Identify appropriate SKU substitutions and provide all necessary documentation to support the cross functional approval process: Culinary, QA, operations, Finance while meeting all inventory delivery deadlines

    ● Foster positive and effective working relationships with supplier network and internal teams

    ● Support and Maintain Fresh Prep Quality Standards and escalate risk and non-compliance appropriately

    ● Support root cause analysis and issue resolution for weekly KPI reporting: vendor invoices, credits, inventory discrepancies, stock write off etc.

    ● Actively support development and implementation of internal continuous improvement projects, individually and as part of a working team: cost savings, avoidance, supply chain efficiency etc.

    ● Maintain systems data accuracy and efficiently, and support with new systems implementation

    ● Support training and onboarding of new team members

    ● Other duties as assigned

    What We Are Looking For

  • 1-3 years of Planning, Buying, Inventory Management experience with a preference for grocery, foodservice, or related industry
  • Certificate or Diploma in Supply Chain or a related field a benefit
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven team player, with strong interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently, with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrate track record of effective problem solving and decision making
  • Demonstrate consistent and effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills
  • Able to build and maintain collaborative and effective relationships with peers, cross-functional teams and suppliers
  • Proficiency in current position
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite

    ● Ability to attend and conduct presentations.
