As a
Behaviour Technician for our Special Needs therapeutic program
located in
North Vancouver,
you will have the opportunity to be part of a team that provides support, care, and mentorship to youth with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other special needs in a therapeutic home setting.

The full-time line consists of 40 hours per week, 3pm-11pm or 2pm-10pm with days to be determined .**You will lead the therapeutic home team's implementation of client specific behaviour support and safety plans.

This is a unique and key leadership role that coordinates with the clinical team to develop treatment plans for the client and will provide role modeling, training, clinical direction and facilitate skill development for the front line team as they master best practice in each domain of the Behaviour Support Plan.

You will oversee the collection of data, ABC charts and supports the team in making adjustments to treatment approaches to ensure client success.

The Behaviour Technician attends integrated case management meetings to present on client's needs, data and progress.


Qualifications:


  • Related postsecondary education, training, and be willing to complete additional training through Hollyburn
  • Minimum one year of experience working with nonverbal individuals with autism and behavioural challenges
  • Complete Hollyburn's Behavior Technician training within 3 months of position start date
  • Experience implementing behaviour support and safety plans
  • Knowledgeable about various communication methods e.g. PECS, iPad apps, etc. and able to create visuals when necessary
  • Effective crisis management skills
  • Clear, direct and sensitive verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to pass a Criminal Record Check and Ministry of Children and Family Development consolidated check
  • Proof of COVID19 double vaccination record
  • Valid driver's license is an asset

A sample of what you'll be doing:

  • Assisting the Program Supervisor in maintaining client files
  • Working with the Clinical Management team to support client intakes, transitions, and discharges from programs
  • Taking leadership in implementing programs recommended by the Clinical team
  • Monitoring and overseeing data collection and tracking
  • Providing coaching to fellow team members and help them develop appropriate skills to achieve successful outcome with clients
  • Communicate with Clinical Manager and Program Supervisor to ensure that behaviour support plans are fully implemented and updated regularly

Salary:
$24.00-$25.50/hour plus benefits
