Your daily role:


Under the supervision of the Human Resources Director, Operations Canada/USA and as Human Resources Manager, you form a part of the plant leadership team by communicating the strategic direction of human resources as it relates to programs across the business unit.

You will coordinate recruitment efforts for key managerial and business critical positions and assist with general facility recruitment, conduct manager and employee training, workforce development, compensation, wellness, and other human resources/talent related activities.

You will provide leadership guidance, coaching and mentoring to facility HR teams, Operations leaders and acts as HR business partner for Plant Operations.


THE ROLE:


  • Champion facility engagement activities including pulse surveys, recognition programs, wellness initiatives;
  • Champion on boarding for all salary employees;
  • Be present on the plant floor to ensure our employees are safe and engaged;
  • Participate in health and safety related activities including STOP;
  • Act as a lead with regard to human resource policies, procedures and initiatives;
  • Identify and collaborate on human resource best practices;
  • Communicate regularly with teams, direct reports and facility manager to build solid working relationships and engagement;
  • Assist in the development of succession plans;
  • Investigate workplace issues and participate in dispute resolution activities including labour management and negotiations;
  • Contribute to regional strategic HR projects related to standardization, best practices, compliance, etc.
  • Oversee weekly payroll process and payroll quality in collaboration with central payroll department;
  • Responsible for active claims management with regard to WSIB, return to work and nonoccupational situations;
  • Participate in recruitment of salary positions and selection of specific positions;
  • Coach supervisors on human resource initiatives including development interviews and objective setting;
  • Sit as part of the JHSC committee, the regional health and safety committee and the leadership team;
  • Be accountable for budget preparation activities, cost analysis and variance to plan discussions;
  • Must work in compliance with established HACCP, Food Safety and GMP protocols;
  • Must work in compliance with established safe work practices and procedures;
  • Be accountable for the health and safety of employees under your supervision;
  • Responsible for ensuring that buildings, machinery and equipment are safe and that employees work in compliance with legislation and established safe work practices.

Your profile

Minimum 3 years of experience as Human Resources Manager;:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or other related field;:
