    Description

    Your Opportunity:

    • Addiction and Mental Health Shared Mental Health Care Services is seeking an experienced, skilled, enthusiastic team member for the temporary role of FTE Mental Health Therapist.
    • The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a range of services, including behavioral health care and shared care services, conducting screenings, assessments, treatment planning, harm reduction, case management, and therapeutic interventions.
    • They will maintain accurate client documentation, complete referrals, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and community agencies to ensure seamless service delivery.
    • This individual must possess clinical expertise, exceptional interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently in a non-AHS environment while facilitating service connections.
    • Regular consultation and education for medical clinic staff on addiction and mental health topics will also be part of the role.
    • Reports to the Manager of Addiction and Mental Health Shared Mental Health Care Services.

    Description:

    • As the Mental Health Therapist, you will utilize various treatment modalities to support individuals facing mental health challenges, working autonomously and within a collaborative team.
    • Your responsibilities include crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management, and treatment provision using evidence-based practices.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Nursing, or Psychiatric Nursing, with mental health assessment and psychotherapy training.
    • Active or eligible for registration with the applicable regulatory college in Alberta.

    Additional Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor of Social Work, Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy, or Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Nursing with related Master's degree or significant experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy.
    • Authorization for mental health psycho-social intervention is necessary.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • As Required.
