Duties and Responsibilities
Shipping and Receiving
- Prepares and packages all goods for shipping in accordance with company procedures.
- Prepares all shipping documents, which includes but not restricted to, packing slips, bills of lading,
- Commercial Invoices, USCMAs when required.
- Coordinate and correspond with couriers, brokers or logistics companies and discuss all logístical operations.
- Determine most effective route of shipment according to expenses and estimated delivery expectations.
- Use courier/logistic and company software to prepare, receive and maintain shipments.
- Conduct traces on shipments where required.
- Inspect and receive incoming shipment contents and compare with records to verify accuracy of shipment.
- Communicate with coworkers to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, and nonconformance to specifications.
- Posts incoming shipments in company software.
- Ensure all products/goods are stored in the correct inventory or production location.
- Unload and load shipments using material handling equipment: Forklift, pallet jacks, or manually including items that may require the ability to lift up to 70lbs
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the shipping and receiving area.
Inventory
- Maintain and communicate inventory levels for all stock items, metals, office, shipping and warehouse supplies.
- Report monthly on all inventory levels including shortages and overages, to ensure replenishment of items where required.
- Spray manufactured parts prior to stocking to prevent rust.
- Label and warehouse all inventory for future use.
- Keep accurate records of inventory levels and locations.
- Follow a control system to reduce damage, breakage, and obsolete inventory.
- Complete physical inventory counts on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis, reconciling inventory records.
- Communicate with coworkers to rectify problems, such as missing inventory.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of inventory storage locations.
Job and Order Fulfillment
- Determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed as per the production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition.
- Fills requisitions, work orders, requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes the required items to production workers and/or projects.
- Picks customer orders from stock or production in preparation for shipping.
- Update company system to reflect inventory movements.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the production bin area.
Operations and General
- Ensure all items and materials are consumed on the work orders.
- Close all work orders when completed.
- Follow the company policies and procedures.
- Suggest and help implement any changes to current policies and procedures that would result in improved individual or overall company performance and productivity.
- Maintain professionalism at all times when communicating with colleagues, managers, customers and suppliers.
- Comply with health and safety procedures including wearing the required personal protectiveequipment (safety glasses and safety shoes/boots) at all times while in the production plant.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 23 Years' experience in warehouse work and inventory recording
- Knowledge of international shipping and logistics incoterms would be beneficial.
- Computer literacy, excellent working knowledge of MS Office Suite
