A strong focus of this division is to advocate and drive transformation of the administrative justice sector in BC in order to decrease costs, reduce delays and improve access and accountability.
Of the 28 Tribunals in the Province, 19 are administratively accountable to the Attorney General representing $33 million in annual budget; these include the Labour Relations Board, BC Human Rights Tribunal, BC Utilities Commission, Civil Resolution Tribunal, and the Mental Health Review Board, among others.
To achieve the government's strategic goals, the TTIOD team guides and supports the culture, vision and strategies required for a successful Tribunal sector.
The challenges associated with shifting from individual, isolated organizations to a cohesive, coordinated and user-focused model while maintaining the independent decision-making authority of each Tribunal are multiple, involving significant cultural change, revisions to public policy and to legislation as well as major changes to business, administrative and operational policies and practices.
Reporting to the Director, Tribunal Supports, the Program Coordinator is an integral member of the TTIOD.Accountabilities for this role fall into a few distinct areas:
- Supports the Director in coordinating the bylaw adjudication program, including the management of rosters, established by government, to enable the assignment of adjudicators to conduct adjudicative hearings:
- including recruitment, appointment, and onboarding of new adjudicators.
- facilitating the remuneration of adjudicators.
- Supports the TTIOD team with delivering the Chair Engagement program in a timely and effective manner.
- Supports business continuity planning for the tribunal sector.
Job Requirements:
Education and Experience
- Some postsecondary education or training in the area of project management, or equivalent.
- Experience providing project management and coordination services for assigned projects.
