    Role and Responsibilities

    As part of the Project Management team, you will play a leadership role in the development and delivery of the MAD-XR product (Magnetic Anomaly Detection). The MAD-XR is a system installed onboard surveillance airplanes and helicopters which allows for real time detection of submarines ). You will be a central participant involved in oversight of improvements to the design, development, testing and delivery of the MAD-XR.

    In this role, the Project Manager should be able to autonomously manage multiple moderate to large projects from start to finish, within schedule, cost, scope and quality constraints.

    Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

    Project Execution

    • Work on projects in the Defense & Security business unit.
    • Track and coordinate technical activities and production of systems
    • Work on problems of diverse scope where a better understanding of theory and broader knowledge is required
    • Validate or monitor research & developmental aspects of project to ensure compliance with technical requirements.
    • Develop project management plan and establish goals and objectives for projects.
    • Manage all resources involved in the program including partners, sub-contractors, financial and operational resources necessary to meet contractual and company related obligations of the project to ensure profitability.
    • Resolve project work/scheduling problems by reprioritizing activities.
    • Evaluate potential project risk and develop mitigation plan.
    • Implement project work breakdown structure.
    • Control project schedule and cost.
    • Use project management best practices and apply company policies, processes and procedures in managing projects. Share best practices with colleagues
    • Regular reporting to internal management on progress, issues, alternatives.

    Finance

    • Execute the project review cycle process.
    • Analyze and validate budget changes.
    • Monitor and control the billing milestones schedule.
    • Validate and approve budget and schedule change orders.
    • Maintain the project budget at completion.
    • Manage the project forecasts.

    Customer Interaction

    • Act as primary liaison with customer on project matters including negotiations and securing customer acceptance.
    • Discuss alternative solutions with customer including contractual changes.
    • Deliver results which achieve lasting satisfaction with customer and achieve financial goals.
    • Identify business opportunities with customer and propose solution to address customer needs.

    Leadership

    • Results oriented.
    • Capacity to manage many activities simultaneously.
    • Recommend and participate in improvement initiatives.
    • Make recommendations regarding recruiting and other human resources activities.

    Our ideal candidate has:

    • University degree (Business Administration, Commerce, or in an Engineering discipline, Computer Science, Applied Sciences or a related field of study)
    • At least 8 years of relevant experience in related field, including at least 3 years of project management responsibility.
    • Experience with AS9001D, Aerospace Quality Management, an asset.
    • Security clearance to work in a Controlled Goods and ITAR environment to be acquired within 6 months of hire
    • Experience in proposals building and sales, an asset.
    • PMP certification or to be acquired within 6 months of hire
    • Fluency in English and French. 3rd language is an asset
