As a Advisor, Global Security the primary purpose and objective of the Advisor, Global Security includes planning and organizing security programs to protect personnel, premises, assets and interests.

Additionally, the incumbent is to conduct security assessments and to participate in the creation of threat mitigation plans for the ATCO Business Units.


What You Get To Do:

  • Single point of security contact for all business units, providing security risk management consultation, emergency preparedness and response, awareness training, security policies and standards, and benchmarking to its customers.
  • Incident Management reporting and review.
  • Develop and implement security solutions in a collaborative manner that supports the needs of ATCO.
  • Recommend and implement security strategies and procedures that protect people, intellectual, information, and physical assets.
  • Support recovery of business functionality and position the business to meet its operating goals.
  • Provide education and training on security awareness and mitigation strategies for the business.
  • Maintain effective relationships with law enforcement, corporate security colleagues in other companies, and other outside government agencies.
  • Analyze trends, scope and manage largescale projects.
  • Represent the department on internal and external Task Forces/Special Committees depending on assignment.
  • Perform vulnerability assessments and readiness audits, and make recommendations for securityrelated improvements.
  • Coordinate with the Investigations Team to ensure business unit(s) needs are met and recommend prevention and/or protective measures based on investigative findings.
  • Investigate complex fraud, theft, and business misconduct and/or policy violations.

Who You Are:

  • A College diploma with minimum of 10 years' experience in Federal or Municipal law enforcement, with a background in major case management preferred,
  • Demonstrates ability to anticipate security exposures and interact effectively with senior management to influence them toward the desired solution.
  • A welldeveloped network of professional contacts in law enforcement and other corporate security departments.
  • Knowledge of best practices and trends in corporate security.
  • Business management skills, reflecting adherence to an approved operating budget, creativity in problemsolving, and justifying programs/recommendations on the basis of a sound business case.
  • Background in researching, developing and implementing security policies, practices and standards.
  • Exceptional organizational, interpersonal and communication skills; both written and oral.
  • Demonstrated skills in researching, developing and facilitation of security awareness, seminars and training.
  • Conscientious selfstarter who is customerservice oriented, needs mínimal supervision, enjoys working in a team environment, and is able to cope effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to deal successfully with all levels of internal and external staff, management, executive, and the public.
  • Displays sound judgment, tack and diplomacy in difficult situations.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, and working knowledge of PowerPoint.
  • Strong research and information sourcing skills.
  • Solid leadership skills with proficiency in working with small groups.
  • Background in writing reports is key.
  • Ability to be proficient with Security Incident Management Systems.
  • Result oriented with a high degree of accuracy and quality of work.
  • Experience in global security planning and operational execution with exposure to international locations would be an asset.
  • Certified Protection Professional (CPP) designation would be considered an asset.
  • Experience in Executive or VIP protection and planning would be considered an asset.
  • Valid driver's license.
