RAPS is Seeking a Support Worker to assist an Individual with Autism (S47)_

Location_: St. Albert_

-
Days_: Monday to Friday (flexible hours: to be discussed with employer)_

Hours:_ _6-8 hour shifts available_

Job Description_: duties include but are not limited to_
- _Personal hygiene reminders_
- _Cue individual to carry out household tasks (laundry, cleaning)_
- _Assist with job coaching and navigate volunteer opportunities_
- _Accompany individual at work and volunteering_
- _Help create a weekly budget_
- _Run errands together (grocery shopping)_
- _Promote an active life style (going to the gym) & encourage healthy meal options_
- _Assist individual to become involved with Special Olympics & other inclusive opportunities within the community_
- _Walk the family dog together and go on bike rides_
- _Supervision and companionship_

Please Note:_ _you will be working around 1 hypoallergenic dog (not in the client's home)._

Qualifications and Other Requirements_: must have a recent vulnerable sector check, driver's licence and vehicle for client transport, current first aid & CPR (or willing to obtain prior to hire), and a minimum of 6-months experience supporting individual's who have a developmental disability. Must be comfortable creating and following schedules. An understanding of Autism is a strong asset._
